The Way to a More Youthful Look May Involve Jowl Liposuction

For many, the effects of aging come at an appropriate in one’s life – and with the proper moderation. For others, those effects may come too soon and may be not be aesthetically pleasing. One alternative to addressing these issues is jowl liposuction, otherwise known as facial liposuction.

Although the cosmetic surgery costs may be considerable with facial liposuction, the reasons for this are two-fold. First of all, not all cosmetic surgeons are qualified to perform a jowl liposuction. Unlike liposuction that is used for the buttocks or a standard tummy tuck, a jowl liposuction is a much more intricate procedure.

Facial liposuction requires pinpoint accuracy that is less of a concern with liposuction procedures that involve larger areas of the body. A slight misstep with a tummy tuck is far less noticeable than a situation that resulted in asymmetrical facial features.

Any issues with a jowl liposuction procedure, that will need later correction, can result in a high level of embarrassment and low self-esteem for that patient. You may ask “why an issue of correction with a facial liposuction error isn’t addressed during the initial procedure?” The answer is a simple one.

The final result of a jowl liposuction is not seen immediately after the surgery. With any facial liposuction procedure, the patient will experience some swelling that will mask the eventual effects of the procedure. The cosmetic surgeon, during the initial consultation, should have discussed the possibility of swelling with the patient prior to the procedure. So, directly after surgery – nothing out of place would be noticed.

Once the swelling from the jowl liposuction has subsided, then any asymmetrical deficiencies will become apparent. It is at this point another facial liposuction will be indicated to repair any problems that may have arisen.
